After partnership meeting – works according to plan
The partnership meeting took place on 14th of October in Lębork. Participants could familiarize with stock-taking process, rules of route marking and see the design of St James signposts. There were also decided the dates of next important meetings in order to carry out the project most efficiently.
The participants were representatives of project partners, it means: Lębork Municipality, the County of Lębork, Self-government of Zachodniopomorskie Viovodeship, Self-government of Pomorskie Voivodeship, Szczecińska Foundation, The Pomeranian Regional Tourist Board, University of Greifswald and guests from Polish Tourist Society, Local Fishing Group of Łeba River or Diocese of Pelplin.
The partners were asked to submit their own remarks and proposals to informational bulletin which is being prepared and to the project leaflet as well as participate in creating project website.
Alicja Zajączkowska, Deputy Mayor of Lębork informed about the results of a meeting with self-government officers from Elbląg and Nowy Dwór Gdański who responded very positively and are willing to participate in RECReate project.
Optimistic news were passed by prof Przemysław Kulawczuk from Gdańsk University. The school from Gdańsk is a new partner in RECReate project, negotiations with Lead Beneficiary concerning budget and activities have already been finalized. Also the date of next working group meeting was set – 16th November at 10am in Town Hall in Lębork. At 1pm there was planned a meeting of the Chapter of Pomeranian Way of St James in County Office in Lębork.
Priest Ostrowski from Szczecińska Foundation informed about the stage of preparations to the conference organized by the Department of Theology of Szczecin University devoted to cultural, geographic and theological, maybe social and economical aspects of St James Way. The conference will take place in 2012.
Representatives of Pomorskie and Zachodniopomorskie Voivodeship described the stage of stock-taking of Pomeranian Way of st James. Pomeranian Voivodeship has already finalized this process, Zachodniopomorskie plans to finalized it by the end of December.
The signposting specialist Tadeusz Krawczyk described the stage of works on marking of the Route in Pomorskie Voivodeship, the way of presenting it on maps with use of colours and the design of plates. The Way of st James, just as other tourist routes, has to be regularly renovated, replenished and sometimes corrected in its course.
